In my opinion, Wordpress.org and Wordpress.com are two services which you cannot compare.

Wordpress.com is like some others, an online service, which grants you the ability to run a blog, while you do not need to know the technical things to run the blog, as you stated in your post.

wordpress.org provides you with weblog software which you can use.

The service and a standalone application cannot be compared. Advanced users will always choose a software package which they can install on their own server(or create on theirselves), while less 'advanced' users will use a service.

I therefor would rather see a comparison between software/services rather then the one given here.
