Page rank is an issue that has been consistently overlooked with many websites. After finding an interesting article on the seo blog I thought it would be worth extending the ideas and beliefs of that article to this domain. A quote from the article;
One of the old cliches and golden rules of a good web site, ‘don’t write for search engines’. If you have something to add to enhance the user experience, add it.
Honestly speaking, do you always add content to your website to benefit the user? I can estimate that most webmasters would add content regardless of the user experience. Page rank is not all about inbound links, infact it is about outbound links as well and having worked with the open source community for a long time, I always give credit (and - you have to) regarding other authors work - you should too, regardless of the nature of the subject. Are you really the ony person who has opinions and expertise on your market niche? I don’t think so. Be sure to credit other sources of information and your users will appreciated your content as well as search engines.
Apply the same SEO techniques regarding linking as you would for inbound links to your domain as well as outbound links. If you are not sure about those techniques, I will write about them some other time or you could visit the seo blog for more detail.
