Many people brag and post about ‘My site is number 1 for this keyword’, but forget the most obvious thing….
Google, MSN, Yahoo organic SERP’s display the snippet of page (usually META description) and the title tag of the page returned for the keyword. Most people forget that you can change what appears on these pages. Based upon this point, if people are searching for a certain keyphrase and your site comes up with some boring text, regardless whether your website is position one, it wont get clicked. SELL YOUR LINK.
WRONG.
Here is a typical example of common boring, useless organic result;

Navigation, Home :: Forums :: Contact Us :: Gustbook
This is my home page. Welcome to my site. Join my site now!
http://www.mysitename.com/ - 30k - Cached - Similar Pages - Note This
Who on earth would click on that link say for the search term ‘Free phpBB Forum Hosting’.
RIGHT.
Use the organic SERP’s as ADVERTISEMENTS. Imagine you are writing a PPC advert on Adwords, Adcenter Yahoo Ads etc…#

Think about your target market, what do they want to see - what will they click?

There’s a site that I use to track my Google SERP positions. You can submit up to 3 keywords per report. The site link is http://seogroup.com/evaluation/ … Its definitly free to use. Hope this help you guys.
