You might have noticed that the blog was down for some time today. This was because I was in the procedure of updating the blog to Wordpress 2.2. A quote from the software vendor, Wordpress is shown below:

This version includes a number of new features, most notably Widgets integration, and over two hundred bug fixes. It’s named in honor of tenor saxophonist Stan Getz.

I would just like to point out a few things that excite me about this version.

This is a short post, but nonetheless an important one! This is DooBDee.net’s attempt at community building (this is DooBDee speaking now!). Whilst the link previously mentioned is a web based resource for webmasters, it lacks a community which is what many websites are dynamically driven by. Which is why I have decided to launch a domain that is fairly catchy and can be extended in any way, whilst it still has some personal attributes tied to it.

Community building requires lots of techniques, related to SEO such as link building and programming such as using PHP to create mod_rewrite and friendly URL’s for search engines. Of course, behind all that there is the usual community techniques such as maintaining a community and website administration - this is perhaps the item I dislike the most. Of course, the point of a community is to get people coming back right? And with those people, you hope to turn their hits into revenue (that’s the point of making a website isnt it?) This website will attempt to cover (and I will attempt to explain) all these community building techniques on a community! Heck - thats killing 2 birds with one stone! Go me!

If you are looking for a place to build a website with good, quality content, tips and tricks on how to run your website - you’ve found your website. No; not Google - TD Creative.
